Porcelain
Porcelain tiles, like ceramics tiles, are man-made but more hard-wearing
because they are fired at a higher temperature. They are avaliable
glazed or unglazed; Glazed tiles have filled in microscopic holes
that cold be present in unglazed tile. Because of firing proses
involved, the body of porcelain tiles are vitrified which makes
them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Slate
Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock derived from clays and
shale. It splits neatly into thin sheets and has a naturalistic,
rough and uneven appearance. It is typically cut into squares
or chooped, which gives the edges a rougher look. it is usuallu
blue-grey with a silvery quality.

Terracotta
Unglazed and softer than orders types of tile, terracotta is made
from extruded or hand-formed red clay. It's available in a number
of shapes and sizes, from smalll hexagons to large squares. Colours
range from dusky ochres to oranges and pinks through to cream.
Many terracotta tiles are only suitable for indoor uses they absorb
water.

Travertine
Travertine is a very dense form of Calcium Carbonate. It is naturally
pitted as the result of the resence of iron compounds or order
organic impurities, and has a banded appearance from hot spring
water penetrating through the limestone.
